But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies..." - 2 Peter 2:1

The Enemy loves to imitate. Pete already warned that Satan prowls about imitating the roar of a lion. He twists the truth into contorted ideas that sound good, but are lies. Pete called the early church to be on watch for the deceivers that will come along. Just as Jesus warned His followers to beware of false prophets—wolves in sheep’s clothing—Pete gives us a careful outline for be watchful of false prophets and teachers.
