The study begins by situating Esther in the height of the Persian Empire, a vast and powerful realm stretching from India to Ethiopia.
Esther’s story as a “profile in courage” — a narrative of a Jewish woman in the Persian court who, despite being an outsider in a hostile environment, steps forward to save her people. The title reflects the tension of navigating life under others’ shadows, facing threats, and acting in faith “for such a time as this”
