Finding Your Safe Place

Verse: Ezra 8:15–23
It has become common for business associates to sign off of a phone conversation with the words: "Be safe." We also hear talk about establishing "safe zones" on campuses. We prepare before a hurricane in order to be safe. Safety seems to be really important. That is nothing new.
Ezra was a leader greatly concerned about safety for a long journey that was ahead. He was preparing to leave Babylon with 5000 people on a 900 mile trip across a desert! They were carrying thousands of articles made of gold back to the Temple. He might have hired an armed escort. But Ezra was led to a very unique approach that would have been shocking to anyone in that time. The journey began and concluded in perfect safety. Do you want to know how?
