People have often looked to priests to help them draw near to God. What are priests? In any religious setting, they are the ones who "stand between" the people and their God. They may go by different titles, but these are the ones who pray on behalf of the people. They make offerings to God for the people. They may also speak to bring a word of blessing or assurance back to the people from God.

This was the system in Old Testament times. There was a Temple with priests who prayed and made the sacrifices. Many of the earliest Christian believers were most comfortable with that system. They had grown up with priests who served in the Temple and offered prayers. But even those holy men got mixed up in politics and even entangled in sin.

     Jesus changed all that.

Join us as we dig into the Book of Hebrews to discover a new kind of priesthood that has been there all along. Draw Near: To the Perfect Priest.
