So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. For he said to God, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.” Hebrews 2:11 (NLT)

We marvel at times at Jesus's high place. He was present at Creation. He was made known as the Word made flesh to live for a while among us. He is our High Priest, appointed to make the great sacrifice that saves us.

But the Bible also reveals a remarkable closeness to Jesus. He is also our Brother. What could that mean? For some, the image might be an older sibling that was bossy. Or maybe we envision a younger sibling who was spoiled. The one thing we can be sure of is that Jesus is the perfect brother.
