Too Close For Comfort
March 21, 2021 Pastor: Michael Thompson Series: Journey to the Cross
Verse: John 13:1–15
The act of washing feet in Biblical times was considered to be the job of a lowly servant. Yet, Jesus got down on His knees and humbly washed the feet of His disciples. Peter rejected the gesture, insisting that the Master would not wash the feet of the servant. Peter missed the meaning. Jesus was showing them to love as He loves, through humble, loving service to others. We have to be willing to leave our comfort zone for God to work through and in our messy lives.
Jesus is a God who isn’t afraid of our mess. He wants to be in the nitty gritty of our lives. It’s the only way that He can work through our dirt. He wants us to know that the only way that He can change us is for Him to get too close for our comfort.
Join us at Faith as we continue our Journey to the Cross. Allow God to get “Too Close for Comfort”.
