Romans 8
[33] Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?  It is God who justifies. [34] Who is he that condemn?

The truth is that charges are constantly brought against us, but not by God. Our Enemy, Satan, is the accuser. Satan constantly whispers in our ear, bringing a host of charges against us each day. His ploy is to remind us of past failures, undermine our confidence in God, and derail us from the purposes of God in our lives.
The accusations of the enemy may even sound righteous and religious. Still, if they seek to condemn us in matters that have been justified by God, they are lies plain and simple. Such accusations may even come from the mouths of well-meaning religious people. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin (1 John 1:7).

If we are currently involved in active sin, that is another matter. God does bring "conviction" -- a spiritual awareness of that sin-- so it may be dealt with. This is not the same as condemnation, which shames us. Conviction is an awareness through Spirit that we need to repent. Conviction is the result of Light that shines and reveals dark corners that are not surrendered.
Scripture is clear that if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). But we confess such sin, and He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (John 1:9). If we have unconfessed sin, God will bring conviction. But once that sin is confessed, it is placed under the blood of Jesus, and God justifies us. We do not justify ourselves. It is not even our act of confession that justifies us.
Once we have been forgiven and justified before God, who can condemn us? We cannot be tried twice for the same offense. It is not that the charges have been dropped and can be brought again. The prosecution is complete, and justice has been served. The price has been paid fully on the cross. There is no condemnation because there is no charge that can be brought.

Lord, I give thanks to You that as I confess my sin, You are faithful to forgive my sin and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.  I choose to walk in the light as You are in the light, in fellowship with You, for the blood of Jesus purifies me from all sin.  In Jesus' Name. Amen.
