Romans 5
[9] Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! [10] For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! [11] Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

It seems like everywhere you go these days, you have to wear an I.D. badge.  To go to work and even to school in many places, you need a badge with a photo I.D. that lets people know who you are.
The I.D. badge usually tells who you are and what your title or job is. I have one badge for when I visit the hospital and another for when I visit in the prison system.  In many companies, there are even various levels of security clearance that are part of your I.D. badge.  The badge lets people know who you are and what you are doing there.
I wonder what it would be like if we had a Christian I.D. badge. I wonder what it might say.  Who are you, in Christ by faith? What is your place? What is your clearance?  According to Paul, your Christian I.D. badge might say several things.
Your identity as a Christian starts with the word "Justified."  If you are in Christ, you have been justified by His blood. You have been declared righteous by His atoning sacrifice.
Your badge would also say: "To Be Saved."  You are scheduled to be saved from God's wrath through the life of His Son.
Another item on the badge would say: "Reconciled."  You were reconciled to God through the death of His Son.  You have been put back into a right relationship with God.
Your badge might also read that you have the highest security clearance available even though some things remain on a "need to know" basis.
Finally, your badge says: "Joy." You have joy. Joy has been assigned to you. You rejoice in God through Jesus. As you abide "in God" through Jesus, you have joy.
It is interesting what is not on your badge, not a part of your Christian I.D.  Of course, there is no denomination mentioned. No theological camp. No specifics regarding the style of worship or church polity. While the Body of Christ is surely important, the specifics are not part of your true identity in Christ.
If you trust in Christ, you are justified, saved, reconciled, and joyous.  You have clearance. That is enough.  That is wonderful.

Thank You, Lord, Jesus, for all that You have done for me.  Thank You for establishing my identity in You. In Jesus' name.
