Ruth 3
[14] So she lay at his feet until morning, but got up before anyone could be recognized; and he said, "Don't let it be known that a woman came to the threshing floor." [15] He also said, "Bring me the shawl you are wearing and hold it out." When she did so, he poured into it six measures of barley and put it on her. Then he went back to town.
Ruth had made her openness to a marriage relationship known to Boaz. The love that Boaz had for Ruth was made clear. She stayed through the night. Boaz instructed Ruth to leave early before the other workers arose and to leave in darkness. He also told her not to talk about having been there. He gave Ruth a generous supply of grain for her family and then headed to town to clear up the matter of marriage.
There is something very wise here about human relationships. Boaz was very careful to protect the reputation of Ruth. He knew how vicious the gossips of the town could be. There are also some who are ready to take that which is a great blessing and turn it into a curse. This is the opposite of God's way
