Romans 14
[13] Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.[14] As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. [15] If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.

Paul brings the issue of judging home. He has made his case clearly. Now, just don't do it! Don't pass judgment on others. It is a choice, a daily decision. Instead, choose to focus on yourself and your walk with God. Instead of passing judgment on others, ask yourself: Is there anything in my life that might be a stumbling block to other Christians? It is not enough just to enjoy our freedom in Christ. We must make up our minds not to put such barriers in the path of believers.
As one "in the Lord Jesus," you have a great deal of freedom! You may have the freedom to eat or drink most anything. You may have the freedom from legalism that would allow you to view almost any movie or read any sort of book regardless of content. You may have the freedom to talk about other people in "Christian concern." You may have the freedom to frequent places not thought of as "Christian." You may have the freedom to wear clothing that some would find immodest. You may have the freedom to live the most luxurious lifestyle you can afford. You may have the freedom to use language or tell stories that are "colorful." Yes, as a soul saved by grace, there are many things you are free to do because you are not under law.
But the reality is that our walk with God and talk among others, always has an effect.
Our "freedom" can become a stumbling block to others. We could simply ignore the concern of our brother or sister in Christ, but this does not express the love of Christ. Do not allow any "freedom" in your lifestyle to destroy your brother or sister for whom Christ died.

Lord, help me keep my eye on my own walk today. Keep my eyes and thoughts off others, and let me focus on You and my walk with You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
