John 3
[16] "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. [18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. [19] This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. [20] Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. [21] But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

The truth here is overwhelming. God loved the world so much that he gave His one and only Son so that we might have life rather than death! God loved you that much! He loves us that much!
The point of Jesus was never condemnation. Jesus came not to condemn but to save. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We only stand condemned by our own disbelief and rejection of Jesus.
The key to this salvation is to believe (trust) wholly in Him. It is by grace that we are saved, through faith--and this not from ourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephes. 2:8-9).
So here is the verdict, the conclusion to all this. Light has come into the world. Before the coming of the Light, men loved the darkness and their deeds were evil. Now the Light has come and we show whether we love the Light by our deeds. If we persist in evil, we love the darkness instead of the Light.
Those who love the darkness do not come into the Light because of the fear of exposure. But when we live by the truth of Christ’s coming we come into the Light and everything is exposed.
Pride is the great barrier. We do not want to admit that we are sinful dying people. We prefer to pretend that we are okay when really we are not. We are called to trust in Him as we walk into the Light and know that we are not condemned but loved.
Are you walking in the Light? Rejoice and give thanks. Have you been hiding in the darkness? Believe on Him and be saved! Set aside pride. Walk in the Light. He has come to save you not to condemn you.

O God, I rejoice in the truth. I choose to believe in Jesus. I trust in His grace. I love the Light and choose to walk in the Light. I will no longer hide in darkness. In Jesus’ name.
