John 6
[36] But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. [37] All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. [38] For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. [39] And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. [40] For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Which came first, the call of God that brings us to Jesus or the faith we place in Him by which we are saved? This is one of the great mysteries of the faith. We are called to believe, yet it is the Father who gives us into the hands of Jesus.
Jesus is clear that all of our faith experience is in the hands of the Father. It was even this way with Jesus Himself! Jesus was surrendered to the Father. His model for us was to do the will of the Father. He did not consider His equality with God something to cling to but instead took the form of a servant.
This one things is sure, Jesus will not drive away any that the Father gives to Him nor will He lose any. No matter the test or trial we may encounter it is not intended somehow to drive you away. Those who die in Christ will be raised at the last day.
Everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life. It is the Father who gives us into the hand of Jesus yet we are called to believe and it is in believing that we find life.
Do you believe? Do you really believe? Have you cast your weight upon the One sent by the Father to come and gather His own to Himself? If not, today would be a great day to do so. There is no safer place than in Him.

Father I give thanks for Your drawing love. I rejoice in the life that You have given in Your Son, Jesus. Draw me close to You. In Jesus’ Name.
