Romans 4
[17] As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

Faith is an interesting thing.  Faith is the trust we return to God, and yet it actually originates with God!  We believe in God by Faith, and yet God gives a measure of Faith to every man.  Faith starts with God and returns to God.
God also operates in perfect Faith! The Word tells us that Abraham believed in God -- "the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were."   That is Faith.  Faith is absolute trust so as to call things that are not as though they are.
God calls things that are not as though they are.  In creation, God spoke, and things that were not-- came into being.  God spoke with absolute Faith that His Words would bring matter into existence from nothing.  God spoke with absolute Faith that life would come into being.  God spoke through the prophets about many events as though these things were already accomplished facts-- including the coming of Jesus to save us!
When Jesus walked the earth, He had this same incredible Faith.  Seeking the will of the Father, once Jesus knew what God wanted, He spoke these things as fact.  Jesus spoke to dead people, and they got up.  He spoke to sick people, and they were well.  He gave thanks for food that was not there, and food appeared to feed the multitude.
When I talk about such Faith, I am not talking about "magic" or "name it and claim it" wishful fancy.  The Bible does not reveal a "wishing-well god."  But we miss something powerful if we fail to realize that anything we ask in His name, according to His will is already a reality if we will only see it.
While we stammer in our faith failures which are usually rooted in selfishness anyway, God would like very much to reveal His plan and hear us say: "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."  God can give us eyes to see and ears to hear so that we might know where He desires to "give life to the dead and call things that are not as though they are."
There are many things that we probably just do not see.  There are strongholds of the enemy that He has already shattered if only we will see.  There are pockets of misery He has already liberated if only we will open our eyes.  There are frightened souls enslaved to sin that He has already set free if only we will tell them.   There are many believers out there who just don't know it yet-- if only we will see them and speak the Good News.
There many future leaders among our youth and children if only we will open our eyes.  Jesus did not see the impetuous Simon; He saw Peter the rock who would preach the Faith.  Jesus did not see Saul the persecutor; He saw Paul the evangelist and Apostle.  Jesus does not see the wiggly "problem child" in your Sunday School class; He see a Christian father or mother, a missionary or evangelist, pastor or teacher.  If only we will see.

Lord, open my eyes today to see Your will.  Give me Faith to see where you desire to give life to the dead and call things that are not as though they are.  Thy Kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
