Genesis 1
[24] And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. [25] God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1 reports to us the magnificent order of God's creation. Like the review of a stunning art show, Genesis recounts the wonder of creation for us.
On the first day, God created the heavens and the earth.
On the second day, sky and water were put in place.
On the third day, dry ground and seas were put in their place, and vegetation was created.
On the fourth day, heavenly bodies marked seasons.
On the fifth day, the water was made to teem with life, and God made the creature of the sea and air.
On the sixth day, God caused the land to produce living creatures.
At the conclusion of each day, there is a declaration that it was good when God saw His creation. We often miss the delight of God's art. We also miss the wonder of this order. It is an order that reflects the magnificence of God Himself. It is an order that speaks of the careful intricacy of God in His design.
Of course, we must be careful not to worship the creation, but the observation and study of God's creation bring us close to the Creator. We see His handiwork in the tiniest details of His remarkable plan as well as in the grandeur of mountain peaks. We are awed at the power of oceans and the persistence of insects. The intricacy of a single leaf, as well as the swirl of a galaxy, inspires us.
God declared His delight in creation. After each sweeping movement, God paused to delight. He was pleased. He was pleased with creation and declared it good. This is a joy we can share. It is the joy we express standing on a beach or vista or before a sunrise to say, "Wow God!  Good job! Beautiful work!"
There is also a wonder that comes when we discover a bit of the biology or physics that God made to hold His creation together. Psalm 104:24 declares: "How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom, you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures."
The first message of the Bible is that there is God. He is the Creator. His creation is ordered and magnificent. He is ordered and magnificent. Everything that we see that comes from Him is a delight.
So stop today and be awed by Him. Stop and watch His art. You don't have to visit the Grand Tetons to see the incredible wonder of His creation. He does a magnificent display in the sky twice daily, just about everywhere (see newspaper for showtimes). He does a light show every night without fail. He displays His art in backyard squirrels and birds, leaves, and worms. He paints the skies differently each day with clouds that vary from wispy to ominous. He spatters the Fall with color, dusts the ground with white, and then melts the earth into bursting life. What is He doing today? Look around. Delight in what God has done.

Good job, God!  Wonderful. You are the best. I love Your work. I have missed some of Your shows, but I hope to be more regular. I delight in You. In Jesus' name.
