The Senior Explorers is a group of men and women seniors (self-defined), though some may say those over 55 qualify, but we do not check birth certificates - new people are welcome.
We generally have for 10 to 30 people involved for events, depending on schedule and interest in the event. We recognize that not everyone can attend each event.
There is no preparation required - just a desire to have a good time. Each event is publicized.
Our activities are various events held monthly between October and April. Some of our activities over the last several years have been:
- Cocoa Village Playhouse performances
- Space Coast Pops Orchestra performances at the Merritt Island Baptist Church, some are free concerts
- Harbor City Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus performances followed by gathering (with food) at a home.
- Rivership Romance Lunch Cruise on the St. Johns' River
- The Holy Land Experience in Orlando
- Visit to Fort Christmas, a picnic, followed by an Airboat Ride
- Visits to the Campus Crusade for Christ campus and the Wycliffe Bible Translators headquarters, both in Orlando.
- Other interesting events
- We try to mix event that are either free or low cost, with others that may be at moderate costs - many under $20.00.
- We frequently combine gathering for a meal before or after the events.
